A gem in Colorado Springs serves fantastic, authentic Mediterranean food. I discovered Briar Mart based on a recommendation of a friend, who thought I might like it after talking about our world travels. She's was right!
The place is a market/restaurant so it may not be setup in a way that Americans are used to. However, don't let the atmosphere scare you away, the food is worth it. As an added benefit, you can buy a box or two of Turkish Delight from the market in the way out!
If you're on the fence... Be adventurous and have a new unique experience. -

Love having this gem in my hood! All the food we've had has been excellent, and I'll admit that I tend to just get the gyro sandwich or the gyro combo. When something is that good why switch it up?! The price is right and I can call ahead so I can pick up food on my way home.
Briar Mart has slowly but surely been doing some updating. It is still a place that's easy to overlook when driving by. I think they should paint the building white and teal like Santorini. That would make the place standout in the otherwise dreary strip-mall world of Academy Blvd.
With a little TLC the patio could be a killer place to hang out on a warm summer day or night. Maybe some bistro lights or something... Hmm...
Ok, maybe I should scale back how much I watch HGTV. -

Sultani plate! Yum yum. The Greek nachos are a must! This is a great little hidden gem for good middle eastern food. There is also a little international grocery shop . You order your meal at the counter and they bring it to your table .

My wife's co-worker recommended Briar Mart and I'm glad she did because I would never have found this place on my own. From the outside it looks like a Spanish market but inside its a Greek market and by far the best Gyro sandwich I've had in the springs! Nice warm soft pita with great gyro meat and veggies doused in a wonderful tzatziki sauce. Really haven't had a gyro sandwich in a long time. Great fries too ! It's also a stocked Greek market. Really friendly service and I'll definitely be back soon!

I've never left a review in my life because I think it's stupid to get so upset about little things. But that all changed today after a stop in at Briar Mart. Food is good. I'll give them that. But it isn't good enough to come back and get treated like crap. Shawn the owner or manager or whatever he is, is a complete jerk. He acts polite but say one wrong thing he doesn't like and this guy will give you some serious attitude. It's bizarre. At what Greek food joint do you have to pay for tzaziki sauce? Had I known I would've payed, but when I asked for sauce both the cook and Shawn made me feel like an idiot for asking. In fact, the cook that handed me my sauce looked me up and down before she gave me the sauce. What the hell is going on in this place?
I'll pay for the sauce!! Just let customers know and don't be a jerk about it!
